Lion's Pride!

BGPS Lion’s Pride

Dear Parents and Guardians,

You may have already noticed the display case in our front foyer. This year, we are using it to present items of “pride” from all of our BGPS students.
On Tuesday, February 19, 2019 students from our class will be sharing their items with the school. Students may choose to bring in an item such as a photograph of place they have travelled, a medal/certificate for an accomplishment, or an artifact to represent their heritage. The cabinet is locked, and all items will be returned in 3 weeks.

Please send what your child would like to put into the display case by
Tuesday, February 19, 2019. As well, please have your child write a paragraph reflecting what he/she is bringing in, and why it is important to him/her.

Students should use the paragraph writing skills they have learned in class (i.e. a topic sentence, relevant and detailed information, and a concluding sentence). Students may choose to use some of the following sentence starters to help them write their paragraph:

This is my ________________.

I earned it by ________________________.

It is important to me because ________.

Thank you for your support in this school-wide initiative,

Ms. Curci

Lunar New Year!

This Tuesday, February 5th will be the Lunar New Year!

We welcome all those who celebrate the holiday to dress up in traditional New Year clothing, if they wish. We welcome all of our students to get into the spirit, even in the absence of traditional clothing, by dressing in red on Tuesday. The colour red is thought to symbolize good luck, so please help us usher in the Lunar New Year with some colourful good fortune!

QSP - Order Pick Up!

As a final reminder, we wanted to share with everyone that that frozen items ordered from QSP will be available for pickup this Wednesday.  For those families who ordered cookie dough or frozen treats from QSP, we would kindly ask that you please come to the school on Wednesday December 12th between 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. to pick up your orders.
All packages will be labeled and ready to be picked up from the front table in the foyer.  We would ask that all items be picked up on that day as we do not have storage facilities for frozen items.
Our continued thanks for your support of the school.
